Saturday, I was in a draft at iConfantasysports.com there were 11 other drafters in the field. iCon is a great place to play fantasy football, because they pay for second place. So, I know that I am taking first, my question is who is going to earn the hundy for 2nd?!
Team one: I love the way you attacked the draft. You got Matthews, Foster, and Lynch in the first 3 rounds. Worse case scenario Lynch is a flex. You proceed to grab two WRs: Bowe and Maclin. I think both have top 10 potential. So right now you have five guys with solid top 10 potential on your team well done!
Next you add VD to complete your TE position and Eli, who is an underrated QB. Now you need to find that number 3 WR. Toby G is a excellent pick-up because he is going to get the early work this season...think last year to Ben Tate while Lynch and/or Matthews are away from the game.
You also have Brinkly who could do a good job, but it looks like Brown will get the touches. Your WR 3 has a lot of guys to do the job. None of them I like, but here is where your real skill comes from. If you can find the guy to match up each week...you will be fine.
Why you will not win: right now you do not have enough quality depth. Williams, Boldin, and BLF could be great...or they could be blah. If you work the wavier wire you could be excellent. The games you play when either Bowe or Maclin are on bye-will be rough. I owe you more of explanation. Mike Williams is the not the number two option on the team. Freeman likes to go primary to the running back to the slot. I just do not see the number two WR having much value. However, the defense is bad so I expect that Williams will get targets. He might flourish as the number two who knows ( I think he does). I like him more as a WR4 with a high upside. Boldin, the man plays the game like a throwback. Too bad his body has taken too much abuse. With the Ravens having a solid D (but the lose of Sizzle is going to hurt) I think that they will not be passing as much. Rice will be the center of the offense and they will take shots down the field to Smith. Brandon LF of Carolina...a high draft pick, he just has not got it. Gettis was better than him. I think that Olsen gets the numbers and not BLF. All of these guys are good number 4s in my opinion, you just do not have a number 3.
